Veelgestelde vragen over de Ledlenser Connect-app in combinatie met de ML6 Connect WL

  • The lamp can be prompted to blink (= go off and on again) repetitively to indicate that a certain time interval has passed by. For example: in a 10 minutes interval the lamp will blink (= go off and on again) every 10 minutes repetitively.
  • Possible interval time span between two blinks: 1-60 minutes.
  • The interval function only works, when the light function, for which the interval has been selected, is running.
  • The interval function works with all continuous light functions. It does not work with SOS, Alpine Distress Signal and red or white blink functions.
  • The interval function must always be associated with a light function within a switch-profile that has been individually composed by the user and sent to the lamp upfront and it can then only be activated and deactivated together with the associated light function by using the physical power switch. It cannot be activated/operated directly via app in real time (see “How to set up and activate interval”).
  • Once the interval has been interruption by turning off lamp, changing light function, activate boost function via “+” switch or activating a special function via power switch, the interval will start again from the beginning, when the associated light function is selected again or the boost/special function ends. Dimming light will not lead to interval interruption.
  • The Interval function works together with any dimming activity via “+” or “-“. E.g. when the “+” switch is used to increase brightness and at the same time when an interval blink takes place, the light dimming activity can be continued while the lamp blinks according to the interval.
  • Interval help text in App: “When interval is activated, the lamp will shortly blink every time a selected time interval is over (1-60 minutes). The cycle repeats continuously until the associated light function has been turned off. Smart Blink will prompt the lamp to blink in a cumulative order. Example: lamp will blink 1x after 10 minutes, 2x after 20 minutes etc. To use a selected interval, please store it. Afterwards go to switch profiles and assign the interval to any light function. Intervals cannot be used without switch profiles.“
  • Open “Further Functions” sub-menu from main menu -> open “Interval” page.
  • Select/click on out of 6 possible interval slots.
  • Select a time interval (1-60 mins) via the fader bar.
  • The name of the interval can be changed by clicking into the text field. If the name is not changed, the automatically assigned default name will remain.
  • Additionally, select smart blink: select toggle button on the right side on the screen to on position (it turns red). Smart blink will result in accumulative interval blinks -> the light turns off and on as many times as the number of intervals that have passed by. For example, with 10 mins interval and smart blink selected: 1x blink after 10 mins, 2x blinks after 20 mins, 3x blinks after 30 mins and so on.
  • Store interval.
  • Go to switch-profile menu and assign the created interval to a light function of an existing or new switch-profile (see also “Switch-Profiles”).
  • After sending the switch-profile successfully to the lamp, the interval can be activated by selecting the associated light function via the physical switch of the lamp. The interval starts directly together with the light function and stops, as soon, as the lamp is being switched off or a different light function is selected.
  • When boost via “+” button or any special function via power button is started during interval, the interval stops and will start new, after boost function or special function ends.
  • The power switch of the ML6 Connect can be individually programmed with switch profiles according to the user’s needs in terms of scope and composition of all available light functions and pre-defined intervals.
  • The light functions of an individual switch profile can always be selected by using the power switch of the lamp.
  • After programming and sending the individual switch profile for the power switch to the lamp, it is stored, as long as the switch profile is not changed/replaced by a new switch profile via app.
  • The direct red light activation from off mode via “+” switch and “-“ switch always works, independently from any individual power switch programming and even if no red light function has been assigned to a stored switch profile.
  • As a default switch profile, the following light functions will be preinstalled for first use, but can be changed afterwards: Continuous white light (mid power, dimmable), continuous red light (mid power, dimmable), white blink, red blink. No special function (double click) will be preinstalled. This default setting can always be restored by keep pushing the power switch of the ML6 Connect for 8 sec. or via app (select “Factory reset” in “Device Settings”).
  • Help text in app: Profile help text in app for profile selection: “Program the witch of the lamp with individually created sequences of light functions. Up to eight switch profiles can be created, e.g. for different activities. To create a switch profile, tap on the switch profile slots. Tap and hold to send switch profile to lamp or for further options. Flashing red light indicates successful transmission to lamp.”
  • Profile help text in app for profile creation: “A switch profile can be composed of up to sixindividually selected light functions. After sending the profile to the lamp, the light functions can be activated in the desired order by using the power switch of the lamp. Intervals that have been created and stored before can be assigned to single light functions. Special light functions such as Boost or Tactical Strobe can be assigned to each profile by using the Double Click function. 2 quick consecutive clicks on the switch of the lamp will activate the special function.”
  • Select/click on one of 8 possible switch profile slots.
  • The name of the switch profile can be changed by clicking into the text field. If the name is not changed, the automatically assigned default name will remain.
  • If desired, assign Double Click with a special function: Click on the pen symbol or the text field in the Double Click line and choose from “Not assigned” (no special function, default setting for new switch-profiles), “Boost” and “Tactical Strobe”. With any special function assigned to Double Click, two quick consecutive clicks on the physical main switch of the lamp (<0.5 sec) will activate the special function directly, no matter if any other light function has been active or the light has been turned off. When no special function has been set for Double Click (= ”Not assigned”), a double click will prompt the lamp to cycle through the light functions of the active switch profile. When boost is set as special function and activated via double click, it will run for maximum 1 minute, but it can also be deactivated again by a single click on any switch before the 1 minute period passed by. When Tactical Strobe is active, it will keep running until it is deactivated by a single click on any switch (no 1 minute limit). When any special function is deactivated by any click on any switch, the lamp returns to the light function that has been active before. Help text in app for double click function: “Via the Double click function the special function can be activated at any time”
  • Click on any of the 6 light function slots under “compose switch profile” to add a light function. Each slot reflects one single click on the physical main switch. The top -> down hierarchy of slots shown in the app reflects the chronological order of what happens when using the physical main switch). Example: when the light function selected in the uppermost slot is 70% red light, 70% red light will be activated when using the physical main switch 1 x from off mode. When in the second slot below the uppermost slot white light blink is selected, 2 consecutive clicks (> 0.5 sec. ) from off mode will activate white light blink. The slots can be moved up or down with the up or down arrows next to the slots to change the switch profile sequence. After clicking on one of the slots, a window opens with the following functionalities in menus and submenus to choose from (for this specific slot within a switch profile):
    • White Light
    • Power
    • Mid Power
    • Low Power
    • Individual -> stepless output selection via fader
    • Interval settings (optional): A preset and stored interval can be added. The interval is valid for the selected white light output and only for the associated slot.
    • Red Light
    • Power
    • Mid Power
    • Low Power
    • Individual -> stepless output selection via fader
    • Interval settings (optional): A preset and stored interval can be added. The interval is valid for the selected red light output and only for the associated slot.
    • Blink (white or red)
    • Blink
    • Position
    • Pulse
    • SOS
    • Alpine Distress Signal
  • When a newly created or changed profile is saved and sent to the lamp, a successful transmission is indicated by 2 x red light blinking.
Intervals that have been created and stored before can be assigned to single light functions. Special light functions such as Boost or Tactical Strobe can be assigned to each profile by using the Double Click function. 2 quick consecutive clicks on the switch of the lamp will activate the special function.”
  • Connection range: Up to 100 meter in open space. When maximum range is exceeded, the lamp automatically disconnects
  • Location services of the smartphone have to be set to work.
  • Detailed ML6 Connect Bluetooth function turn on/off information: Each time the lamp is turned on via the physical power switch or “+”/”-“ (direct red light activation) in any light function, Bluetooth function of ML6 Connect is activated. The lamp now remains ready for connection with the smartphone via Ledlenser Connect App or for operation via remote control as long as the lamp is on. When the lamp is turned off via app, switch or remote controll and disconnected from smartphone, the Bluetooth function will be set to standby mode for 50 hours. In standby mode the lamp can be reconnected with smartphone or turned on by remote control without using any switch of the lamp again, but with slower reaction time. Once the connection is reestablished or the lamp is turned on again, reaction time is back to normal. When no connection with the lamp has been established within the 50 hoursstandby time period, Bluetooth function will be deactivated and the lamp will not be available for connection or remote control operation anymore. For reconnection or remote control operation the lamp has to be turned on via physical power switch again.
  • Connection/Disconnection indication and other activity indications: The red light of the lamp will blink 2x when it connects/disconnects with smartphone, profiles are sent to the lamp, or on/off timer are activated.
  • The app always starts with the connection screen. Once it is connected, it will open the main menu.
  • Help text in app: Start screen (for all Ledlenser lamps compatible with Ledlenser Connect App): “Turn on lamp to establish connection with app and click on “Connect”. Close app to disconnect.”
  • ML6 Connect specific advisory text shown directly after the first time a connection has been established with ML6 Connect (will not be automatically shown again, can be read again in help text): “Connection or disconnection is indicated by flashing red light. Close app to disconnect. After turning off the lantern the Bluetooth function will remain in standby mode for 50 hours. During standby mode connection and operation with app and remote control is possible without manually turning on the lantern via main switch. “
  • How to connect: Turn on the lamp via power switch or “-“/”+” (direct red light activation). The Bluetooth function of the lamp remains activated as long as the lamp is on. Open the Ledlenser Connect app and click on “connect”. When more than one Ledlenser lamp with Bluetooth function are available and in range, select a lamp from the list and click again on “connect”. When no connection takes place, the app will stop the connection procedure.
  • Disconnect manually: Click on “leave Icon” (rectangle with arrow) in main menu of app (upper left corner).
  • Disconnect automatically: Turn off smartphone, set smartphone to lock screen/screensaver kicks in (depends on smartphone model and setting).
  • Bluetooth function standby mode: after turning off the lamp and disconnection from smartphone, the Bluetooth function remains in standby mode for 50 hours. Within this period reconnection with smartphone/app or operation via remote control can take place with slightly slower reaction time and without manually turning on the lamp again. When reconnection is established, reaction time is back to normal.
  • The On-timer prompts the lamp to turn on at a pre-selected time within the upcoming 24h period at mid power (100lm) in continuous white light mode. When the light turns on via on-timer, it will automatically turn off again after 20 minutes (except it has been manually turned off already before the 20 minutes period is over. Manual turn off by pushing any button).
  • The On-timer is synchronized automatically with the smartphone clock at the time the smartphone connects with the lamp, thus a certain a.m. or p.m. time can be selected.
  • The On-timer can only work for one time, after it has been set. It will not work repeatedly and has to be set again for any new automatic turn on activity.
  • The On-timer will also work, when the lamp is being charged.
  • The On-timer will work regardless, if the lamp has been switched on and off again or if light functions have been changed in the time period between activating the On-timer and the selected turn on time.
  • The On-timer does not work when the lamp is already turned on when the selected turn on time has been reached.
  • The On-timer can only be activated directly from the app. It cannot be activated via a physical lamp switch or be added to switch profiles.
  • On- and Off-timer cannot be used at the same time. If On-timer is selected on and afterwards Off-timer is also selected to on, the On-timer will automatically switch off and vice versa.
  • Timer help text in App: “On-Timer and Off-Timer: You can define the time when the light turns on or off automatically. You can also alter the turn on and turn off speed with the fading bar. It will prompt the light gradually dim down as it turns off or gradually become brighter when it turns on - to wake you gently, for example. Activate the On-Timer or Off-Timer with the toggle button. A flashing red light indicates successful activation of the timer function. On- and Off-Timer don't repeat automatically and have to be reactivated after each timer period has been completed. On-Timer and Off-Timer cannot be activated at the same time.”
  • Open “Further Functions” sub-menu from main menu -> open “Timer” page.
  • Select time: Click directly on the time indicator (left side on the screen) or on the pen symbol (right side on the screen). A window for time selection opens.
  • Additionally, select dimming function: The user can set the dimming on speed of the light via the fader bar at any speed between 1 and 10 minutes. If the fader bar remains at “0” (default setting), the light turns on immediately. Dimming will always start with selected turn on-time. The 20 minutes light on period will count once the light has reached the full 100 lumens (in the most extreme dimming setting, the time between start of dimming on and automatic turn off can be 30 mins). The dimming on function can be used e.g. to simulate sunrise for waking up gently.
  • Activate On-timer and send to lamp: select toggle button on the right side of the screen to on position (it turns red). The activation of timer is confirmed by the lamp with 2 x blinking red light. The light will turn on automatically at the selected time and remain on for 20 minutes (unless it is turned off manually before the 20 minutes have passed by clicking any switch).
  • Deactivate: The On-timer can be turned off via app or by applying the reset procedure. Deactivation or change of the On-timer is confirmed by 2 x blinking red LED.
  • The Off-timer prompts the lamp to turn off after a pre-selected time period has passed by within the upcoming 60 minutes.
  • The Off-timer is not synchronized to the smartphones’ clock – so only a maximum 60 mins time period can be selected after which the light will turn off.
  • The Off-timer can only work for one time after it has been set. It will not work repeatedly and has to be set again for any new automatic turn off activity.
  • The Off-timer works for all light functions, except for SOS/Alpine Distress Signal.
  • The Off-timer will also work, when the lamp has been switched off and on again or when the light mode has been changed before the preselected time period is over.
  • The Off-timer does not work when the lamp is already turned off before the selected off-time has been reached.
  • The Off-timer can only be activated directly from the app.
  • Additionally, select dimming function: The user can set the dimming off speed of the light via the fader bar at any speed between 1 and 10 minutes. If the bar remains at “0” (default setting), the light turns off immediately. Dimming starts with selected turn off time.
  • Activate Off-Timer and send to lamp: select toggle button on the right side of the screen to on position (-> „red“). The activation of off-timer is confirmed by the lamp with 2 x blinking red light.
  • Deactivate: The Off-timer can be turned off via app or by applying the reset procedure. Deactivation or change of the Off-timer is confirmed by 2x blinking red LED.
  • You can always return to main menu by swiping across the screen from left to right or by clicking on the main menu symbol (three white lines) on the upper left screen.
  • Battery status indication of the lamp (in %) is positioned on the upper right screen (not visible in main menu).
  • SOS / Alpine Distress Signal: Continuous emission of light impulses in the SOS interval or Alpine Distress Signal can be started via the SOS symbol on the upper right screen of the main menu. Clicking on it will open a sub-menu, where either SOS or Alpine Distress Signal can be selected. As long as the SOS or Alpine Distress Signal function is active, other light functions cannot be accessed via app.
  • Make sure, the most recent Ledlenser Connect app version is installed on your smartphone. If this is not the case, please first deinstall the current Ledlenser Connect app from your device, then download the latest Ledlenser Connect app from the app store and install it.

  • Make sure, location services and Bluetooth function of your smartphone are activated.
  • Disconnect the app manually via “leave icon” and retry the connection procedure.
  • If it does not help, force the app to stop and retry the connection procedure.
  • If it does not help, apply the factory reset: keep pushing power switch for 8 sec. or select factory reset in app, see “Factory Reset” for details) -> any individually stored switch profile and active timer will be deleted and can be set up again via app.
  • If it does not help, force the app to stop and do a manual reset: open and close battery cap and retry the connection procedure. The manual reset procedure may also work with unexpected lamp errors, even when lamp is not connected to app and factory reset via app or main switch does not work.
  • The factory reset can be used to restore factory settings of the switch profile for the power switch, including special functions. Any individual setting, timer and switch profile and timer will be deleted from the lamp and the original default factory settings will be restored (switch profile: continuous white light, Mid Power -> continuous red light, Mid Power -> white blink -> red blink). Individual switch profiles can be restored via app anytime. The factory reset may also be applied in case of an unexpected failure.
  • Activate factory setting:
    • By power switch of lamp: Keep pushing the power switch for 8 sec until the red light of the lamp blinks 2x.
    • By Ledlenser Connect App: Connect the smartphone/app with the lamp, go to “further functions”, then to “Device settings”and select “Reset” under “Factory Reset”. A warning appears: “Do you really want to restore factory settings? The currently stored switch profile and active timer will be deleted”. Click on “Reset”. The red light of the Lamp will blink 2 x to confirm restoration of the original default factory setting.
  • The factory reset cannot be activated by using the remote control.
  • Advisory text in App: “Returning the lamp to default factory settings.”
  • Initial Pairing / 1st time connection with ML6 Connect: Before using the remote control with the ML6 Connect for the first time, the remote has to be initially paired with ML6 connect via the app. Connect the smartphone/Ledlenser Connect App with the ML6 Connect. Select “remote control” in the main menu. Click on “+”in the remote control sub-menu. Now the App scans for any available remotes for 10 seconds. Within the 10 seconds scanning procedure, click on any button of the remote control. The desired remote control should now appear in the app. Now, click on “Add” to constantly pair it with the ML6 Connect. The remote control is now paired with the ML6 Connect and appears in the remote control list. As long as a paired remote control is not manually removed from the list, the ML6 Connect can now always be operated with the remote control without pairing it again.
  • Remote control basics of ML6 Connect:
  • General switch logic of remote control:
  • The remote control has 3 switches: “(((”; ” O”; “))”
    • “(((” remote control switch exactly reflects the “+“ switch on the ML6 Connect except for Transportation Lock activation/deactivation. Clicking, double clicking or keep pushing it will cause the same actions.
    • “ ⃝” remote control switch exactly reflects the power switch of the ML6 Connect. Except for factory reset, Clicking, double clicking or keep pushing it will cause the same actions: turning on, turning off and cycling through the light functions. Factory reset will not work by using remote control.
    • “))” remote control switch exactly reflects the “-” switch of the ML6 Connect except for Transportation Lock activation/deactivation. Clicking, double clicking or keep pushing it will cause the same actions.
  • Transport Lock activation/deactivation is not possible by remote control (e.g. by keep pushing “(((“ and “))” switch of the remote control at the same time).
  • Factory reset is not possible by remote control (e.g. by pushing ”O” switch on the remote control for >8 sec.).
  • Precondition for operations:
  • Remote control must be in range (10-100 meters in open spaces)
  • Remote control battery must be sufficiently charged.
  • ML6 Connect is not in Transportation Lock.
  • ML6 Connect Bluetooth function active or in standby:
    • Bluetooth function of ML6 Connect active: When the ML6 Connect is turned on, the ML6 Connect Bluetooth function is active. The lamp can be directly controlled via the remote control. All functions are available with quick reaction time, incl. turning off by keeping pushed “O” switch. When ML6 Connect is operated in Low Power mode at low battery status, the remote control reaction time can be slightly reduced.
    • Bluetooth function of ML6 in standby: after turning off the lamp and disconnection from smartphone, the Bluetooth function of the ML6 Connect is set to standby mode for 50 hours. Within this period the lamp can be turned on with slower reaction time by keep pushing “O” switch (thereby reflecting the ML6 Connect power switch) or keep pushing “(((“/”))” switch (thereby reflecting the direct red light activation function of “+“/”-” switch). When the ML6 Connect has been turned on again, reaction time is back to normal.
When the lamp is turned off via app, switch or remote control and disconnected from smartphone, the Bluetooth function will be set to standby mode for 50 hours. In standby mode the lamp can be reconnected with smartphone or be turned on by remote control without using any switch of the lamp again, but with slower reaction time.
  • Help text in app: “After initially pairing, the remote control can always be used with the lamp when the Bluetooth function of the lamp is active or in standby mode. The remote control switches reflect the functionalities of the lamp switches, even when an individual switch profile has been stored. When a lamp has only one switch, only the middle switch of the remote control can be used with that lamp. The remote control is not necessarily in the scope of delivery of all compatible Ledlenser lamps with Bluetooth function.”
  • In Direct Control, all common light functions can be directly selected and activated (except Boost, SOS, Alpine Distress Signal, Automatic Emergency Light, Transportation Lock, Timer and Interval). Clicking on a function will prompt it to turn on:
  • Continuous white light: Stepless light output selection via fading bar and three preset levels (Power, Mid Power, Low Power). Output is always regarded as percentage of what is possible at a given time (depends on heat and battery level).
  • Continuous red light: Stepless light output selection via fading bar and three preset levels (Power, Mid Power, Low Power). Output is always regarded as percentage of what is possible at a given time (depends on heat and battery level).
  • White/red blink: Three blink presets (Blink, Pulse, Position)
  • Memory function does not work with Direct Control. Once the lamp has been turned off and on again via a physical switch in Direct Control, the lamp will continue with the most recent switch profile program that has been sent to the lamp. The light function that has been set via Direct Control before will not be memorized.
  • The Emergency Light Mode prompts the lamp to go on (white light, Mid Power) for 20 minutes when a voltage drop or disconnection from external power source is detected (black out, disconnection from power source due to earthquakes etc.). The user will thus have an emergency light available for 20 minutes.
  • Emergency Light Mode function requires Automatic Emergency Light function to be activated and charging cable connected to lamp/power plug (standard charging procedure, see also quick user guide).
  • Light Mode activation/deactivation: Go to “further functions”, then to “Device settings”,select Emergency Light Mode toggle button to on position (-> „red“) for activation or to off position (-> “white”) for deactivation. Select “Save” at the bottom of the page. The red light of the Lamp will blink 2 x to confirm Emergency Light Mode activation/deactivation.
  • When the lamp turns on in Automatic Emergency Mode, any push on any physical switch will prompt the lamp to turn off. When no physical switch is used, the lamp will turn off automatically after 20 minutes.
  • Advisory text in App: “The light turns on automatically when charging current drops or charging cable is disconnected from power network, e.g. due to blackout or earthquake.”
  • In Transportation Lock all regular functions of all physical switches are disabled. It prevents the lamp to turn on accidentally, e.g. when the it is transported in a backpack. When any switch is used in Transportation Lock, red main light blinks 4 times quickly to indicate Transportation Lock is activated.
  • Transportation Lock activation/deactivation:
    • Via physical switches: When ML6 Connect is turned off, keep pushing “-” and “+“ switch at the same time until the red main light blinks 4 times quickly will activate Transportation Lock. Keep pushing “-” and “+“ switch at the same time again until the lamp turns on will deactivate Transportation Lock.
    • Via app: Go to main menu. Go to “further functions, then to “Device Settings” and select “Transportation Lock”toggle button to on position (-> „red“). Select “Save” at the bottom of the page. Any light function will stop and the red light of the Lamp will blink 2 x to confirm that the new device settings have been sent to the lamp and the activation of the Transportation Lock. To deactivate Transportation Lock select toggle button to off position (-> „white“). The Lamp turns on to confirm deactivation of the Transportation Lock.
  • Lamp operation via Direct Control is still possible when the lamp is locked.
  • If the lamp is locked and turned on via Direct Control, any push on any physical switch will prompt the lamp to turn off.
  • Advisory text in app: “Locking switches prevents accidentally turning on light functions, e.g. when lamp is in a backpack.”
  • When Memory Mode is switched on, the lamp will remember the last active light function and also dimming level after it has been turned off. The lamp will always return to it, after the lamp has been switched on again. The lamp will not remember the dimming level, after cycling to the next light function in the programmed function sequence via the power switch.
  • Memory Mode activation/deactivation: Go to main menu. Go to “further functions”, then to “Device Settings” and select “Memory Mode”toggle button to on position (-> „red“). Select “Save” at the bottom of the page. The red light of the Lamp will blink 2 x to confirm activation of the Memory Mode. To deactivate Memory Mode select toggle button to off position (-> „white“). The Lamp turns on to confirm deactivation of the Transportation Lock. The red light of the Lamp will blink 2 x to confirm deactivation of the Memory Mode.
  • Advisory text in app: “Return to last active light function and brightness level after turning off and on the lamp.”
  • Veelgestelde vragen over de Ledlenser Connect-app in combinatie met de MH11/iH11R

  • Ways of using the switch: single click (push and release), double click (push and release 2 x shortly within 0.5 seconds), keep switch pushed (push and not release for a certain time). The different ways of using the switch are associated with different functionalities.
  • General switch/app logic: Direct Control overrides switch and vice versa, also when lamp is connected with app.
  • Direct turning off and memory function: When a light function (any basic lamp mode) is selected via the physical switch, any further click on the physical switch within 5 secs will prompt the lamp to cycle to the next light function (or to turn off, when the end of the switch program sequence is reached). Any further click on the physical switch after 5 seconds pause will prompt the lamp to turn off directly. In this case turning on the lamp again will result in activating the last set light function, thanks to the memory function.
  • There are three basic lamp modes, accessible via physical switch of the lamp (see also Quick User Guide):
  • Mode 1 (App mode): In this mode, the function of the physical switch of the lamp is defined by the individually programmed and composed light functions that have been created and stored on the lamp via app before (see also “Switch Profiles”). Mode 1 can be accessed by keeping the switch pushed until the red light LED blinks 1x after 8 secs (first, it will blink 4x after 5 secs to indicate lock mode activation. Please keep on pushing the switch without disruption for further 3 secs, until the red light LED blinks again 1x and the desired mode change has taken place). The MH11/iH11R will also automatically change to mode 1, once it has been connected to the app. It will stay in app mode also after disrupting connection unless it is not manually changed back to mode 2 or 3.
  • Mode 2 (White light): Optisense / Low Power / Mid Power / Power / Blink / Boost (double click within 0.5 sec.). Mode 2 can be accessed by keeping the switch pushed until the red light LED blinks 2x after 10 secs (first, it will blink 4x after 5 secs to indicate lock mode activation. After further 3 seconds the red light LED will blink again 1x as mode 1 has been reached. Please keep on pushing the switch for further 2 seconds without disruption, until the red light LED blinks 2x and the desired mode change has taken place). Mode 2 cannot be re-programmed.
  • Mode 3 (RGB): Red light / Blue light / Green light / Boost (double click within 0.5 sec). Mode 3 can be accessed by keeping the switch pushed until the red light LED blinks 3x after 12 secs. (first, it will blink 4x after 5 secs to indicate lock mode activation. After further 3 seconds the red light LED will blink again 1x as mode 1 has been reached and after further 2 seconds it will blink 2x as mode 2 has been reached. Please keep on pushing the switch for further 2 seconds without disruption, until the red light LED blinks 3x and the desired mode change has taken place). Mode 3 cannot be re-programmed.
  • You can always return to main menu by swiping across the screen from left to right or by clicking on the main menu symbol (three white lines) on the upper left screen.
  • Battery status indication of the lamp (in %) is positioned on the upper right screen (not visible in main menu).
  • SOS function: Continuous emission of light impulses in the SOS interval can be started via the SOS symbol on the upper right screen of the main menu. As long as the SOS function is active, other light functions cannot be accessed via app.
  • Make sure, the most recent Ledlenser Connect app version is installed on your smartphone. If this is not the case, please first deinstall the current Ledlenser Connect app from your device, then download the latest Ledlenser Connect app from the app store and install it.
  • Check, if a firmware update is available for your Ledlenser lamp. If a firmware update is available, please execute the update (see also: “Is a firmware update available and how to execute a firmware update?”).

  • Make sure, location services of smartphone are activated.
  • Disconnect the app manually via “leave icon” and retry the connection procedure.
  • If it does not help, force the app to stop and retry the connection procedure.
  • If it does not help, force the app to stop, open and close battery cap (LED will shortly blink) and retry the connection procedure (reset procedure) -> any set timer function will stop and have to be set up again. Reset procedure may also work with unexpected lamp errors, even when lamp is not connected to app.
  • When a firmware update is available for your Ledlenser lamp, an automatic pop-up notification appears in the connection screen of the app. In addition, a firmware update icon will appear in the upper right area of the main menu (square chip icon with exclamation mark) as long as the update has not been executed.
  • Requirements for a successful firmware update:
    • Sufficient battery capacity of the lamp and smartphone (minimum 50% recommended) used for the update process.
    • Smartphone with stable internet connection and latest version of the Ledlenser Connect app.
    • Enabled Bluetooth function of the smartphone must be enabled until the update process has been completed.
    • Smartphone and app must be in close proximity and the Bluetooth connection may not be interrupted until the update process has been completed.
    • Smartphone and app must remain switched on until the update process has been completed.
    • The app may not be turned off or closed until the update process has been completed.
  • Executing a firmware update (if available):
    • Start the app, turn on the lamp and click on “connect”.
    • Click on “ok” in the firmware availability notification. Alternatively click on the firmware update icon in the upper right area of the main menu (square chip icon with exclamation mark), then click on “execute” and confirm with “yes”. The update process starts automatically and the red, green and blue LED of the Lamp will turn on shortly after.
    • A bar indicates the progress of the firmware update. The update process takes about 5-10 minutes.
    • After the firmware update has been completed successfully, a notification will appear and the red, green and blue LED of the Lamp will turn off. App and lamp can now be normally operated again.
    • For some smartphone models it may be necessary to restart the app and lamp after the firmware update.
  • Firmware update failed, cancellation of firmware update process:
    • Under certain conditions a firmware update may not be successfully completed, e.g. when the Bluetooth connection has been interrupted during the update process.
    • In some instance, the red, green and blue LED of the Lamp may remain turned on permanently after the update process has been canceled or interrupted until the update has been completed.
    • To do the firmware update again and successfully, the update process can be repeated until it is completed.
    • In some instance it may be necessary to restart the smartphone and reset the lamp (open and close battery cap) before repeating the firmware update process.
  • In Direct Control, all common light functions (except Boost, Strobe, SOS, Timer and Interval) can be directly selected and activated. Clicking on a function will prompt it to turn on:
    • Constant Light: light output can be selected step less via fading bar. Output is always regarded as percentage of what is possible at that time (depends on heat and battery level).
    • Energy Saving: Three preset levels (Power, Mid Power, Low Power).
    • Blink: preset blink interval.
    • Multicolor light: Red light, green light, blue light.
    • Optisense: Adapts light automatically to environmental light conditions.
    • Memory function does not work with Direct Control. Once the lamp has been turned off and on again via the physical switch in Direct Control, it will start with the most recent switch profile program that has been sent to the lamp. The light function that has been set via Direct Control before will not be memorized.
  • Connection is not possible during charging.
  • Connection range: The Smartphone always connects to nearest ready-for-connection lamp within 1.5 m range. Once connected, the lamp can be moved further away from the smartphone.
  • Location services of the smartphone have to be set to work.
  • Connection is always possible in any basic mode (see above or QUG for different modes).
  • Detailed Bluetooth turn on/off information: Each time the lamp is switched on via the physical switch in any mode and light function, Bluetooth is activated. The lamp is now ready for connection with the smartphone via app for 120 seconds. Afterwards the Bluetooth function is deactivated and the lamp will not be available for connection anymore, even though the light is on. When lamp is switched off without having been connected to smartphone within the 120 seconds period, Bluetooth function will be deactivated. Once the lamp has been connected to the smartphone, it will constantly stay connected as long as the app is running, no matter if the lamp has been switched off via switch or via the app itself in between. When the app has been ended/closed or the connection to the smartphone has been disrupted in any other way (e.g. screensaver kicks in), the Bluetooth function will stay activated for another 120 seconds and afterwards turn off. If the lamp is on (any light function) during disconnection, the smartphone can be quickly reconnected to the lamp via app by clicking on “connect” within this 120 seconds period – using the lamp switch again is not necessary. If the lamp has been turned off via app shortly before disconnection, or the lamp has been turned off via switch before or shortly after disconnection, the Bluetooth function will be deactivated directly when connection to app is disrupted. In this case the physical switch of the lamp needs to be used again for re-connection.
  • Connection indication: Lamp will blink 2x with green light when it connects/disconnects, profiles are sent to the lamp, or on/off timer are selected.
  • The app always starts with the connection screen. Once it is connected, it will open the main menu.
  • Advisory text shown in app: Turn on headlamp to establish connection with app and click on "connect". Close app to disconnect. Connection or disconnection is indicated by flashing green LED.
  • How to connect: Start app, turn on lamp via switch, click on “connect” within 120 secs after turning on the lamp. When no connection takes place, the app will stop the connection procedure after 15 seconds. The connection procedure can also be manually disrupted via the “cancel” button.
  • Disconnect manually: Click on “leave Icon” (rectangle with arrow) in main menu of app (upper left corner).
  • Disconnect automatically: Turn off smartphone, set smartphone to lock screen/screensaver kicks in (depends on smartphone model and setting).
  • The On-timer prompts the lamp to turn on at a pre-selected time within the upcoming 24h period at 150 Lumens in Constant Light mode. When the light turns on via on-timer, it will automatically turn off again after 20 minutes (except it has been manually turned off already before the 20 minutes period is over).
  • The On-timer is synchronized automatically with the smartphone clock at the time the smartphone connects with the lamp, thus a certain a.m. or p.m. time can be selected.
  • The On-timer can only work for one time, when it has been set. It will not work repeatedly and has to be set again for any new automatic turn on activity.
  • The On-timer will also work, when the lamp is being charged.
  • The On-timer will work regardless, if the lamp has been switched on and off again in the time period between activating the On-timer and the selected turn on time.
  • The On-timer does not work when the lamp is already turned on before the selected turn on time has been reached.
  • The On-timer can only be activated directly from the app. It cannot be activated via the physical lamp switch or be added to switch profiles.
  • On- and Off-timer cannot be used at the same time. If On-timer is selected on and afterwards Off-timer is also selected to on, the On-timer will automatically switch off and vice versa.
  • Timer help text in App: On-Timer and Off-Timer: You can define the time when the light turns on or off automatically. You can also alter the turn on and turn off speed with the fading bar. It will prompt the light gradually dim down as it turns off or gradually become brighter when it turns on - to wake you gently, for example. Activate the On-Timer or Off-Timer with the toggle button. A flashing green LED indicates successful activation of the timer function. On- and Off-Timer don't repeat automatically and have to be reactivated after each timer period has been completed. On-Timer and Off-Timer cannot be activated at the same time.
Dimming will always start with selected on-time. The 20 minutes on period will count once the light has reached the full 150 lumens (in the most extreme dimming setting, the time between start of dimming on and automatic turn off can be 30 mins). The dimming on function can be used e.g. to simulate sunrise for waking up gently.
  • Activate On-timer and send to lamp: select toggle button on the right side on the screen to on position (it turns red). The activation of timer is confirmed by the lamp with 2 x blinking green LED.
  • Deactivate: The On-timer can be turned off via app, by changing basic modes (e.g. to 2 or 3) or by applying the reset procedure. Deactivation or change of the On-timer is confirmed by 2 x blinking green LED.
  • The Off-timer will prompt the lamp to turn off after a pre-selected time period has passed by within the upcoming 60 minutes.
  • The Off-timer is not synchronized to the smartphones’ clock – so only a maximum 60 mins time period can be selected after which the light will turn off.
  • The Off-timer can only work for one time when it has been set. It will not work repeatedly and has to be set again for any new automatic turn off activity.
  • The Off-timer work for all light functions, except for SOS.
  • The Off-timer will also work, when the lamp has been switched off and on again in between or when the light mode has been changed in between.
  • The Off-timer does not work when the lamp is already turned off before the selected off-time has been reached.
  • The Off-timer can only be activated directly from the app.
  • Select time: Click directly on the time indicator (left side on the screen) or on the pen symbol (right side on the screen). A window for time selection opens.
  • Additionally, select dimming function: The user can set the dimming off speed of the light via the fader bar at any speed between 1 and 10 minutes. If the bar remains at “0” (default setting), the light turns off immediately. Dimming starts with selected turn off time. Dimming does not work with Optisense.
  • Activate Off-Timer and send to lamp: select toggle button on the right side on the screen to on position (-> „red“). The activation of off-timer is confirmed by the lamp with 2 x blink of green LED.
  • Deactivate: The Off-timer can be turned off via app by changing basic modes (e.g. to 2 or 3) or by applying the reset procedure. Deactivation or change of the Off-timer is confirmed by 2x blinking green LED.
  • The lamp can be prompted to blink (= go off and on again) repetitively to indicate that a certain time interval has passed by. For example: in a 10 minutes interval the lamp will blink (= go off and on again) every 10 minutes repetitively.
  • Possible interval time span: 1-60 minutes.
  • The interval function only works, when the light function, for which the interval has been selected, is running.
  • The interval function works with all light modes except for SOS and Blink.
  • The interval function must always be associated to a light function within a switch-profile that has been individually composed by the user and sent to the lamp upfront and it can then only be activated and deactivated by using the physical switch in mode 1 (by turning on or off the light function to which the interval has been assigned). It cannot be activated/operated directly via app in real time (see “How to set up and activate interval”).
  • Once the interval has been disrupted (switch off lamp, change mode/light function), the interval will start again from the beginning.
  • Interval help text in App: When interval is activated, the lamp will shortly blink every time a selected time interval is over (1-60 minutes). Intervals cannot be used without switch profiles.
  • Select/click on one of 6 possible interval slots.
  • Select a time interval (1-60 mins) via the fader bar.
  • The name of the interval can be changed by clicking into the text field (names that already exist cannot be selected twice).
  • After sending the switch-profile successfully to the lamp, the interval can be selected and activated with the associated light function via the physical switch of the lamp. The interval starts directly together with the light function and also ends with it, as soon as the lamp is being switched off or a light function without interval is selected.
  • The lamp switch can be individually programmed according to the consumer’s needs in terms of scope and composition of all available light modes and pre-saved intervals, except for SOS.
  • The individual switch profile can always be selected and operated by using the physical switch of the lamp in basic mode 1 (app mode). The basic mode 1 is the standard mode and will always be automatically set after connecting with a smartphone via app, even when mode 2 or 3 has been selected before. The lamp will stay in basic mode 1 also after disconnection and until mode 2 or 3 has been manually selected.
  • After programming and sending the individual switch profile to the lamp, it reflects the light functions of basic mode 1 of the lamp, as long as the switch profile is not changed/replaced by a new switch profile via app.
  • As a default switch profile the basic app mode 1 will have the same white light standard functions as basic mode 2 preinstalled.
  • Profile help text in app for profile selection:
  • Program the switch of the lamp with individually created sequences of light functions. Up to eight switch profiles can be created, e.g. for different activities. To create a switch profile, tap on the switch profile slots. Tap and hold to send switch profile to lamp or for further options. Flashing green LED indicates successful transmission to lamp.
  • Profile help text in app for profile creation: A switch profile can be composed of up to six individually selected light functions. After sending the profile to the lamp, the light functions can be activated in the desired order by using the switch of the lamp. Intervals that have been created and stored before can be assigned to single light functions. Special light functions such as Boost or Strobe can be assigned to each profile by using the Double Click function. 2 quick consecutive clicks on the switch of the lamp will activate the special function.
  • Select/click on one of 8 possible switch profile slots.
  • The name of the switch profile can be changed by clicking into the text field (names that already exist cannot be selected twice). If the name is not changed, the automatically assigned default name will remain.
  • If desired, assign Double Click with a special function:
    • Click on the pen symbol or the text field in the Double Click line and choose from “Not assigned” (no special function, default setting for new switch-profiles), special function “Boost” or special function “Strobe”. With one of the two special functions assigned to Double Click, two quick consecutive clicks on the physical switch of the lamp (<0.5 sec) will activate the special function directly, no matter if any other light function has been active before or the lamp has been switched off (as long as basic mode 1 has been set).
    • When no special function has been set for Double Click (=”Not assigned”), quickly using the physical switch of the lamp will allow fast cycling through the individually composed switch profile in basic mode 1.
    • When boost is set as special function and activated via double click, it will run for maximum 10 seconds, but it can also be deactivated again by a single click on the physical switch before the 10 seconds have passed by.
    • When boost is deactivated, the lamp returns to the light function that has been active before or switch off again.
    • When strobe is set as special function and activated via double click, it will keep running until it is deactivated by a single click on the physical switch (no 10 seconds limit).
    • When strobe is deactivated, the lamp returns to the light function that has been active before or switch off again.
  • Profile help text in app for double click function: Via the Double click function the special function can be activated at any time. Click on any of the 6 light function slots under “compose switch profile” to add a light function. Each slot reflects one single click on the physical switch. The top -> down hierarchy of slots shown in the app reflects the physical switch sequence (chronological order of what happens when using the physical switch). Example: when the light function selected in the uppermost slot is red light mode, red light will be activated when using the physical switch 1 x from off mode. When in the second slot below the uppermost slot Energy Saving Low Power is selected, 2 consecutive clicks (<5 secs or 0.5 < 5 secs; depending on assignment of special function like boost mode) from off mode will activate Energy Saving Low Power go on. The slots can be moved up or down with the up or down arrows next to the slots to change the switch profile sequence. After clicking on one of the slots, a window opens with the following functionalities in menus and submenus to choose from (for this specific slot within a switch profile):
    • Energy Saving
    • Power
    • Mid Power
    • Low Power
    • Interval settings (optional): A preset and stored interval can be added. The interval is valid for the selected Energy Saving output mode and only for the associated slot.
    • Constant Light
    • High
    • Middle
    • Low
    • Individual -> stepless output selection via fader
    • Interval settings (optional): A preset and stored interval can be added. The interval is valid for the selected Constant Light output mode and only for the associated slot.
    • Blink
    • Multicolor Light
    • Red
    • Green
    • Blue
    • Interval settings (optional): A preset and stored interval can be added. The interval is valid for the selected multicolor light function and only for the associated slot.
    • Optisense
    • Interval settings (optional): A preset and stored interval can be added. The interval is valid for Optisense and only for the associated slot.
  • When a newly created or changed profile is saved and sent to the lamp, a successful transmission is indicated by 2 x blinking green LED
